2024 CAD Collection

In my CAD class, we had to create a line using Adobe Illustrator and Opti Tex. The collection was inspired by our desire to make positive changes in our lives and create a perfect world according to our vision. For each garment, you can find its purpose and reasoning below. I used my skills in Illustrator to create a color palette, patterns, flats, and a storyboard illustration. The collection features vibrant colors and eye-catching patterns, symbolizing energy and renewal. Finally, one of my patterns was printed on 100% Polish cotton and turned into a physical garment.

Description

The inspiration for this collection is the desire to bring change into our lives by hitting the reset button. These statement pieces of clothing empower the consumer, making them feel like they can restart their life at any time. The garments embody the spirit of new beginnings through their vibrant colors and eye catching patterns, which symbolize energy and renewal. Designed for comfort , the garments are perfect for anyone looking to make a fresh start.

  • Tech Pack

    Featuring the pattern and spec sheet. Provide clear instructions on what products are needed to make a garment and include details such as seam allowance, zipper, and fabric requirements. A pattern sheet outlines the measurements required to create the patterns for the garments.

  • Cost Sheet

    Includes a final breakdown of the expenses associated with creating my garment.

  • Marking

    A process to guarantee accuracy, functionality, and cost-effectiveness in engineering, architecture, and manufacturing. It involves ensuring that designs meet industry standards, function seamlessly, and are visually apparent for effective communication among team members.

Outcome

Throughout this course, I've developed my skills in grading patterns for different sizes, and using flat patterning tools to create fitted garments. I've also learned to utilize Optitex software to illustrate fashion designs in 3D, and to perform technical design functions such as creating specs and tech packs.
