Internship With ZZAZZ

Production

Founded by Tracey Tarantino, who is a curator in the special events industry throughout Chicagoland with a focus on the fashion portfolio, specializes in choreography, fashion production, and live talent performances. Zzazz Productions elegantly showcases designers from both the fashion and costume realms.

Reflection:

With my background in design, this internship provided me with a broader perspective on the fashion industry. It deepened my understanding of the multifaceted aspects involved in putting on a fashion show, from physically visiting the venue to orchestrating music and choreography that complements the thematic presentation of clothing by models.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborated with the founder in curating diverse music selections for weekly fashion shows.

  • Recorded choreography in advance, ensuring timely distribution to models preparing for upcoming shows.

  • Organized garments on racks, facilitating efficient preparation for models upon their arrival.

  • Acquired proficiency in conducting site surveys as part of the pre-planning process for fashion shows.

Outcome:

  • Backstage, served as a dresser for models undergoing quick changes and handled garments with delicate fabrics responsibly.

  • Developed expertise in assisting models during rapid costume changes while ensuring the careful handling of fabrics and accessories.

  • Learned proper procedures for storing garments designated for transfer to various locations and for use by different models in distinct shows.
